Brainspotting

Accessing Healing Beyond Words

Sometimes, healing begins where words leave off.

Brainspotting is a gentle yet powerful brain-body therapy that helps us access deep emotional and somatic experiences that traditional talk therapy may not fully reach. Developed out of the understanding that trauma is held not just in the mind, but also in the body, Brainspotting offers a doorway to process pain, rewire stuck patterns, and reconnect with your inner resilience.

As a therapist who works with trauma, relationships, and intimacy, I use Brainspotting to help individuals and couples uncover the roots of emotional and physical distress—especially when words feel too limited or when you're feeling stuck despite your efforts to "talk it out."

Why Brainspotting?

While talk therapy often works through insight and narrative, Brainspotting taps into the brain’s innate ability to heal itself by working directly with the deeper, subcortical regions that store trauma and unprocessed experiences. You might be surprised by how much can shift simply by accessing the right “spot” in your field of vision—linked to a neural network in your brain—while staying present to your inner world with compassionate support.

Brainspotting also works directly with your nervous system, helping it move out of fight, flight, or freeze states and into regulation. It allows your body to complete unfinished stress responses and access calm, safety, and groundedness from the inside out. Over time, this can lead to increased emotional resilience, less reactivity, and a deeper sense of ease in your relationships and daily life.

What to Expect in a Brainspotting Session

A session begins with you bringing in a feeling, concern, memory, or body sensation you’d like to explore. Together, we’ll slow things down and locate a “brainspot”—a point in your visual field that connects with the deeper part of your brain holding that experience. From there, you simply notice. You don’t need to talk your way through it unless you want to.

I’ll be right there with you, tracking your cues, holding space, and following your process without agenda. Brainspotting sessions often feel grounding and surprisingly intuitive. Some clients experience a deep emotional release, others gain clarity or insight, while some simply feel calmer and more at ease in their bodies.

Ideal for:

  • Trauma (developmental, acute, or relational)

  • Anxiety, overwhelm, and emotional regulation

  • Relationship patterns and attachment wounds

  • Sexual trauma, desire concerns, and body-based healing

  • Couples looking to heal disconnect or past relational hurts

Whether you’re seeking relief from trauma, exploring your relationship dynamics, or navigating intimacy and connection, Brainspotting offers a unique path inward—where lasting healing often begins.
